In brief

Head of the Personal Injury group, my clients include claimants in all types of personal injury cases including road traffic accidents, workplace accidents and criminal injuries. I have specialised in this area since I qualified thirteen years ago.

In public

I have lectured to various organisations including the CAB and support organisations on a wide variety of personal injury subjects. I have also given radio interviews on transport disasters such as the Paddington and Ufton Nervet rail crashes, as well as having acted for many of the victims of these accidents.

In work

Having handled multiple cases in all of the personal injury specialities, I have special expertise and interest in catastrophic injury cases including brain and spinal injuries and serious orthopaedic injuries. A significant number of my client’s are children and adults who have suffered a significant brain injury. These cases require sensitive handling and a detailed knowledge of the particular needs of these clients. As a result I have developed a keen interest in the rehabilitation issues and needs on behalf of these clients and have developed strong links with the various support organisations in this area.

Industry associations

Memberships include the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel, the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (Senior Litigator Member), the Child Brain Injury Trust (Associate Member), the Brain Injury Social Work Group, Headway and Spinal Injuries Panel Solicitors. I am also a Headway Life Member and Trustee of the Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust.

In the past

A graduate of Essex University and Guildford Law School, I qualified in 1994 at Brain and Brain before moving to a Surrey firm where I was an assistant solicitor then partner before joining Boyes Turner as a partner in 1999.

In my spare time

I enjoy music – I sing (or try to!) in a band of sorts and am learning to play the piano. I also enjoy walking in the Lake and Peak Districts with my family and friends.
